We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Plant Scientist to join our dynamic research team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in molecular biology, RNA sequencing (RNA seq), and bioinformatics. Experience in plant transformation, vector construction, and the characterization of edited plants is essential. The ability to generate transgenic plants is preferred. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative solutions in plant science.
Design and construct vectors for plant transformation ensuring the successful integration of desired genetic elements.
Conduct molecular biology experiments including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, and sequencing.
Perform RNA seq experiments and analyze data using bioinformatics tools to elucidate gene expression profiles.
Execute plant transformation protocols, including Agrobacterium-mediated transformation and other relevant techniques.
Characterize gene-edited plants through molecular, physiological, and phenotypic analyses.
Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments, data analysis, and results.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement research projects.
Present findings to internal and external stakeholders through written reports, presentations, and publications.
Stay current with advancements in plant science and related fields to integrate new methodologies and technologies into research projects.
PhD degree in Plant Science, Biotechnology, or a related field, with at-least 3-5 years of experience.
Expertise in Molecular Biology and plant Biotechnology, with proven skills in protein purification, DNA/RNA manipulations, qPCR, western blotting, ELISA assays, and other functional assays.
Proficiency in RNA seq and bioinformatics analysis.
Experience in vector construction and plant transformation techniques
Familiarity with the characterization of edited plants.
Demonstrated ability to perform plant tissue culture and generate transgenic plants is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Extensive knowledge of plant-virus interactions
Previous experience in a research or industry setting focused on plant biotechnology.
Expression, purification, and characterization of virus and virus-like nanoparticles from plants and bacteria.
Familiarity with genome editing technologies such as CRISPR/Cas9, amiRNA, RNAi.
Knowledge of statistical analysis and software for bioinformatics.
